Tooley's Boatyard

Tooley's, the oldest working dry dock in Britain, has been in continuous use since 1790 when it was established to build and repair the wooden horse-drawn narrowboats which piled the newly constructed canal network, so vital to the development of the Industrial Revolution. A Guided Tour of Tooley's offers visitors a fascinating insight into the workings of a traditional boatyard. Pre booking Required. Gift Shop with canal related merchandise.
