Year round there are many opportunities to see a wide range of art in North Oxfordshire and the surrounding area. The annual Oxfordshire Artweeks open studio event, runs over three weeks, and this year the North Oxfordshire period runs from 10th – 18th May.Across the County hundreds of artists in over 400 sites open up their studios or hire village halls to put on an exhibition of art work. This is a unique experience in what is one of the longest running open studio events in the country. Art can be seen in many unusual venues including dental & doctor surgeries, local businesses and shops.
Throughout the year local crafts are on show at Banbury Tourist Information Centre where local artists from the Oxfordshire Craft Guild are featured. Within the shop a feature is the ‘I love Jewellery’ cabinet, showcasing a different local jewellery maker each month.
Just a short walk away along the canal towpath is The Mill Arts Centre, which also displays local artists and crafts.
