St Giles (Bletchingdon)

Dates from 13th Century with 19th Century north aisle and porch. The oldest contents are a small portion of medieval wall painting, Jacobean pulpit and pews and memorial tablets. Christopher Wren lived in the rectory as a boy.

Open Saturday afternoons in the summer. Key can be obtained for other hours, details at the church.

Road Directions

From M40/J9 take the A34 to Oxford. Take first left turn to Weston On the Green. Turn left just past the Weston Mnaor Hotel, for Bletchingdon. Follow road for approx. 2 miles, turn right at top of the hill, by first group of houses. Follow road straight to Church. There is also a footpath (approx. 300m) from village which is a pretty walk.
