Full of Saxon heritage, Bicester was originally a small market town in Oxon England which has grown into a major tourist destination within North Oxfordshire. It is surrounded by beautiful countryside and is filled with pretty streets featuring many restaurants, shops and cafes.
The Market Square retains many of its charming 16th century features and is one of many places in Bicester of historic interest. It is also where the traditional markets are held every Friday as well as the Farmers’ Markets on the second
Thursday of every month, selling local produce from within a 30 mile radius. Throughout the year Bicester also hosts many events thoughout the town and Garth Park ranging from the Jazz Fesitival to the Last Night of the Proms.
Also not to be missed is the new Bicester Avenue Garden Centre and Retail Park, complete with its own food restaurant, relaxing café and soft play centre.
Bicester’s main attraction though is undoubtedly England's best open air shopping centre, Bicester Village Designer Outlet Shopping. Drawing in over 3 million visitors a year, it features a host of British as well as International designer shops. Definitely the place for intense retail therapy, it is renowned for its fantastic shopping experience consisting of discounts of up to 60% on goods varying from adult fashion, china to books and children's clothes! You might want to check out the shoe shops too as you’re almost guaranteed to wear out your old ones exploring Bicester Village’s many shops!
